I highly recommend this book!!! Running Man A Memoir By: This book changed my life Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? I really enjoyed this book.

Nearly fifty pounds overweight and unable to climb the stairs without stopping, he saw where his sedentary lifestyle was taking him. Good but dour Like others, I came to this book via Born to Run.

Like others, I came to this book via Born to Run. Felt very real, the childhood stories, the hard training yards, the focus, the competitiveness, the ups and downs and so on. She gives up drugs and moves back home with her mother, abandoning her friends, her boyfriend, and the lifestyle aduiobook she came to depend on. After a decade-long addiction to crack sott and alcohol, Charlie Engle hit bottom with a near-fatal six-day binge that ended in a hail of bullets.

Get a jump on training for an ultramarathon with Hal Koerner's Field Guide to Ultrarunninga comprehensive handbook to running 30 to miles and ujrek, authored by one of the most experienced and recognized athletes in the sport.

Yet, Scott Jurek's take on the subject is as unique as his talent.

We laughed a lot, cried a little. I read it partially on my long run days Scott gives an intimate account of what running has brought him, how the physical challenge stretched his mind and touched his soul, this I really appreciated.

The title slightly put me off, as I was worried that it would be very preachy about the vegan lifestyle, but it isn't. Story is good, narration not so Prior to this I listened to David Goggins, can't hurt me which blows this out of the water. Someone who wasn't so abrasive in his reading style. He was funny, the inflections were all right on.

Motivational and a great help for a mere mortal like me just starting out in the trail and ultra running game. Now, Bryon Powell has written Relentless Forward Progressthe first how-to manual for aspiring ultrarunners.

Eat and Run (Audiobook) by Scott Jurek, Steve Friedman |

Great memoir, a must "read" for runners If you could sum up Eat and Run in three words, what would they be? Knowing that the great Scott Jurek felt and feels like I do on some runs is very pleasing! Will get you out running I really enjoyed this book. Cory Reese Narrated by: David Clark is a formerly obese alcoholic and fast food junkie who found a new life in running. I liked it, and I'll listen to it again. Long before Cory Reese strapped on his first pair of running shoes, he learned the key to being a successful ultrarunner: After two years of addiction, Catra is busted while selling, and a night in jail is enough to set her straight.

I really enjoyed listening to this while running. Then I just keep running, or holding that yoga pose, or pumping that weight.

Eat and Run

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Sometimes you just got to do stuff! And, unbelievably, she's also a former meth addict. Nicholas Guy Smith Length: Deena Kastor was a star youth runner with tremendous promise, yet her career almost ended after college, when her competitive method - run as hard as possible, for fear of losing - fostered a frustration and negativity and brought her to the brink of burnout.
